A break from the 5,000
Jun. 18th, 2007 08:39 pmYesterday would have been cute-poet-chick's and my eighth anniversary, and for the first year since we split, I didn't think about it on the day. It was also the twenty-fifth anniversary of the day I graduated from high school, so I thought I'd do this senior-year-of-high-school survey from
snippy:
1. Who was your best friend? Eliza (pronounced uh-LEE-sa, like
elissaann, not like ee-LYE-zuh)
2.What sports did you play? Wallyball, mostly. I played softball until junior high, but not beyond then.
3. What kind of car did you drive? I wasn't old enough to drive yet.
4. It's Friday night, where were you? Home.
5. Were you a party animal? No. I would go to an occasional birthday party.
6. Were you considered a flirt? Nope. Not even a little.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir and Jazz Ensemble. My mom hit the roof when I quit calculus to take Jazz Ensemble.
8. Were you a nerd? Yes, totally.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Nope.
10. Can you sing the fight song? Yep, or rather the school anthem: Mount Miguel, we sing to thee, in praises will our voices be. Let fall on campus hall brave deeds in answer to thy call. Faith and honor to obtain shall be the goal we will attain. Mount Miguel, we pledge to thee our faith and truest loyalty.
11. Who was your favorite teacher? Larry Nordell. He was kind of a sarcastic ass, but he was an amazing teacher.
13. School mascot? The Matador
14. Did you go to Prom? Never even considered it.
15. If you could go back and do it over, would you? Depends: with my current knowledge? Sure! Without it? No way!
16. What do you remember most about graduation? My homemade (by a friend of my mother) lilac sundress; my parents' fight about who was going to come to the ceremony.
17. Where were you on senior skip day? I don't remember.
18. Did you have a job your senior year? Not unless you count having a period where I helped out in the counseling office for class credit. I was too young for a work permit.
19. Where did you go most often for lunch? The cafeteria
20. Have you gained weight since then? Yup.
21. What did you do after graduation? Graduated 25 years ago yesterday, on a Thursday. Monday, I started summer school at the local community college.
22. When did you graduate? June 17, 1982.
23. Who was your Senior prom date? N/A
24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion? Didn't go, nor to the 20th or 25th.
25. Who was your home room teacher? I don't remember. It was second period (still is), but I don't remember who my second-period teacher was.
