sereneMore brief-with-spoilers reviews of the new fall season:
Reaper: Hmm. I like it so far. It's superheroish in a strange way. I am looking for him to find a way to fight his fate instead of leaning into it. I like his friends a lot. I am already tired of how boy-heavy this TV season is. Bring on the Bionic Woman.
Cane: Worth every minute just to see my darling Rita Moreno dance. But it's a pretty good show so far. Tense and dramatic without being too over-the-top, and Jimmy Smits is remarkably good in this. I will not be surprised if Cuban-American people feel about this show the way Italian-American people felt about The Godfather; I'd be interested in hearing any datapoints.
