Unacknowledged Legislation a 90s collection of his litcrit, is excellent, but 9/11 and massive quantities of ethanol have obviously taken their toll.

I don't know about insane, but he's always been an intolerant dick, no matter which side of the fence he happens to be sitting on.

Sounds like he's starting to wear out his welcome in the US, finally, after the groans of derision drove him from the UK.

I used to read The Nation and, yes, he always has been, if less so. Katha Pollitt OTOH has always rocked.
