I have iTunes on my Vista laptop, but it might even have come installed that way from Dell, I don't remember.

Vista wouldn't let me download iTunes

Really? That sucks! I have Windows 2000 at home and it had nothing to say about me downloading iTunes. One more reason not to get Vista when I upgrade...

My iTunes has hundreds of songs that are not actually on my hard drive, but can only be accessed via the web. They're from Magnatune. I like a lot of them, dislike some of them, and have not heard the vast majority of them. I think there are something like 900 songs from Magnatune. If I were to turn off my modem, I would still be able to access whatever's on my hard drive, which has maybe 150 songs. I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't do those searches.
