A pint of real ale, or a bottle of Belgian beer, or a gin and tonic, or a cup of very weak tea (British-style, i.e. hot with milk - though I don't take sugar).

Eggplant!

I'm currently partway through both Snow Country and The Secret Life of Lobsters. (I know this isn't exactly answering the question, but I'm not entirely sure which was the last one I finished; there are several candidates and I have a very bad memory.)

I don't think we should be doing that kind of thing in public.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
Complain repeatedly that we should have taken the stairs, and then apologize for being annoying.

If it was before sundown, I'd put the kettle on. If after, I'd ask you if you'd prefer gin and tonic or bloody mary.
20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
I would make my hair magically never ever ever need brushing.

Neither — I don't like fizzy things. I even prefer my tonic to go a bit flat before I put it in gin, and to this end have a very complicated rotation and mixing system which usually ends up with me wasting tonic (I'm sorry, environment!)
25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
Spend $500 on taking Bob out to one of the more expensive places on my "to try" list, spend $500 on taking doop out to another one, put $1000 in my emergency account (which is slightly depleted on account of there never being any work in January), and put the rest in my pension.

A. I'm a rehabilitating pessimist. I try to be realistic but occasionally my anxiety issues cause me to err on the side of negativity.

A. My worst single day ever was the day I was diagnosed with a staph infection and Chris damn nearly got fired on the same day we had to put one of my cats down.

A. That I would be immortal.

A. I wish I had any talent that would cause people to pay (positive) attention to me. eg: I can sing, but I have an average voice. If I had a stupendous, heart-stopping singing voice, that'd work! Or, perhaps, the ability to do dead-on impressions of people. People love that. Or maybe if I had a great knack for spellbinding storytelling. You get the idea...
