Good stuff about today:
1) I finally really understand the new temp gig, and it's pleasant and easy, and I set my own hours
2) I finally got traction on the day-job stuff that's been bogging me down, and that feels good
3) I made yummy cabbage rolls for myself for dinner, even though I was having dinner alone. They made me happy.
4) Tomorrow's CSA-box day, yay!
5) Looks like for the first time in months, we've made it to the end of the month without having to borrow money from anyone, and we were able to pay back most of the money we borrowed while I was in San Diego tending to my mom.
6) My mom is doing GREAT, health-wise. Her surgery was 81 days ago, and she's got a clean bill of health.
7) After much back-and-forth within myself, I decided that even though I haven't touched my garden in months, I'm going to renew my membership and try to resurrect it. I went over today to visit it, and the daffodils greeted me, along with a not-kilt-by-weeds-yet strawberry plant that's now more than two years old. This makes me happy. From here on in, 2pm-3pm is Gardening Hour. Don't anyone bug me during Gardening Hour. :-)
8) My friend is all bouncy-happy with NRE. He totally deserves it. Yay!
9)
someotherguy got a totally unexpected windfall from the years-ago sale of his house in San Diego. Yay, windfall!
10) Even though I didn't clean the kitchen, I had a really productive work night, so it's not getting me down.
11)
stonebender is starting to feel better. He was SO sick.
12) Right after I told
someotherguy that I had decided to go all quixotic and start up the garden again, he opened the mailbox to find a seed catalog for me. :-)
13) Today's worse-than-usual joint pain responded very well to aspirin. I was very relieved.

Date: 2008-02-27 09:43 am (UTC)Now I really want cabbage rolls. At the moment, enough to where I think I have to make some soon even though I associate them with special occasions and therefore large productions making huge quantities. Of course, this is hunger during a bout of insomnia talking. Anyway, what do you put in yours? I'm always curious about variations.
