Post-thwarting reward

I am sitting here with my shoes off, eating a bowl of raspberry sorbet with figs on top. Later, someotherguy is going to make me some guacamole with garlic and noniodized salt so I can have chips and guacamole and salt-free salsa. Then I'm gonna put my feet up and play games on his iPad until bedtime.

I was thwarted all day*, and I deserve this pampering, if I do say so myself.



Thwarts:

My foot hurts enough that walking is rough, but I feel a deep need to do a lot of walking, so my choices are to not walk (tried that yesterday and it bites) or to walk and hurt the whole time (did that today)

Kaiser called and said I need to go to a different location to have my scan, and I need to do it Friday, not Thursday. So I'm gonna have to wait an extra day AND pay to rent a car to go there.

All of this is minor stuff, but between that and not being able to eat what I want still, I'm feeling tantrummy. Fortunately, fresh figs are an excellent tantrum remedy.

The oral surgery has left my teeth cold-sensitive, though, so even this is a little thwarted, but fuck it, I'll enjoy it anyway.

I have to rent a car Saturday anyway. I could rent it a day early, take some or all of Friday off, and take you to your scan (for free). Would that be good?

Aww, thanks for the offer! I think I'm going to just rent a car for a couple hours or take a cab, though; I think coordinating with someone for drop-off and pick-up (and causing them to miss work, too) might just stress me out. Thank you!

I've got a Zipcar membership, so usually I just take out a Zipcar for an hour or two, but I'll keep the rent-a-relic place in mind for longer-term rentals. Thanks!
