And why can't you do dishes? Are they all clean? Are you out of soap? Did someone steal or hide them? Is this National Keep Your Hands Dry" day? Is the spirit willing, but the hands aren't?

Of course *banging my hand to my head* How quickly I forget the pain of others. Shame, shame on me How is it feeling? Does it hurt all the time or only when you touch it or do something like . . . say . . .dishes?!

It hurts only when I touch it hard -- I've banged it a couple of times and been sorry. But I want it to heal as well as it can before I go soaking it in hot soapy water.

Oh dear! Get well soon! I sliced up my left thumb recently trying to use a swiss army knife to open a watch battery compartment, even after my younger son had warned me to be careful. Um, yeah, usually I'm a lot more careful.

They don't really work for me. For one thing, something about how I do dishes means they never quite keep my hands dry, and for another thing, I have this compulsion that means I need to feel the dishes as I wash them so I can be sure I've gotten all food residue off them.

Fortunately, I have a partner who is willing to just do the dishes, but he was busy yesterday, so they were piling up and it was getting on my nerves. I'm over it. :-)
