I've never cooked this much chicken in my life. The packages I thought had six thighs each had eight, and likewise sixteen/twenty-plus. I think I've got something like sixty chicken thighs here. I sure hope everyone's hungry. May be up frying chicken all night. :-)

Started peeling the peaches for the fresh-peach ice cream. Also planning on making at least a batch of chocolate, and probably some vanilla and green tea, but we'll see. Potato salad and macaroni salad will have to wait until the morning.

Fun fun fun. Tired tired tired.

It all sounds wonderful. We are planning on coming to the party. I just want to verify that there will be vegetarian options (don't need vegan)--if not I can bring snacks for us.

Thanks!

Here's the menu, with notes on what's got animal products in it:

cold fried chicken (obviously not veg)
veggie kabobs with marinated tofu (vegan)
pulled pork and homemade rolls for sandwiches (not veg, though the rolls are vegan and you're welcome to make yourself a cheese sandwich instead)
corn on the cob (obviously vegan)
potato salad (contains eggs)
macaroni salad (contains eggs)
watermelon
lemonade
iced tea (sweet and un)
peach cobbler (contains milk)
homemade ice cream, several flavors (contains milk)

You are so made of awesome.

I was mostly just verifying that I didn't need to pack food for the babe. I don't. He will be very happy with the rolls, corn, potatoes (ta-toes!), macaroni salad (noodles!), watermelon and cobbler. I should probably bring him special eatin' clothes.

Looking forward to it!

I forgot to mention the eggs in two of the ice creams. :-)

I'll be so happy to see you; that doesn't happen often enough. :-)

Just so you know, I forgot the potato salad has dairy in it. I am cooking up some potatoes now for the baby. See you!

Oh, don't worry about it at all. He eats dairy fine now and has no problems with it. He will happily eat extra potatoes, but I am so sorry to have caused you extra trouble. He is good with dairy and eggs (he won't necessarily eat a plain egg, but that is a different story). The only things he doesn't at all are nuts/nut butters (delaying until he is closer to three), sesame seeds, paste and oil (delaying until he is at least two), meat/fish/poultry.

Thanks again!

Oh, it's no trouble at all. I just threw a couple of new potatoes out of our organic box into the oven with the bread. :-)

Sounds yummy, although the thighs are my least favorite parts (which is odd because up until I was about 12 or 13 they were my most favorite). But now the only time I will eat chicken thighs is if they are part of chicken salad.

:-) The thighs are the part everyone in my family fights over, so now that's all I bother making.

It's more important to enjoy the party than to stay up all night cooking. Honest.

If you like, [livejournal.com profile] waywardcats and I can come early and help ...

Silly person. Cooking for two days IS enjoying the party. :-) (In fact, the reason I do some of it the day before is so I can just hang and schmooze when party time comes.)

Working tomorrow and Saturday, for California Heartland (http://www.californiaheartland.org/), which means I'll eat really well. But I would rather be eating at your house.

Have a wonderful time. I'll be thinking of you all.

Talk to [livejournal.com profile] fluffkitten and [livejournal.com profile] micheinnz, the only surviving members of the TDMC. I tried beating an answer out of Andi, but she only got all kittenish.

What's TDMC stand for, again? I've forgotten.

And I read the menu above and thought "oh, MAN", and I've just _had_ a big dinner! Decadence!

Something like Teleporter Design and Maintenance Commission, I think?

Mmmmm, the food was great.
