I had SUCH a wonderful time last night. Thanks to all who showed up. As usual, I did regret not having a lot of time to spend with each of you one on one, but it really made me happy to see everyone so lively and stuff, considering the INTENSE heat of the day. I got to meet some new people and see loads of my favorite friends. And heck, I got to spend the day feeding folks, so you know I was happy.

Today, wtfpotatoes wants to make more green-tea ice cream, which I think is a great idea, as it doesn't involve heating anything, but next time I'm up to cooking custard, I am totally making more of that dark-chocolate stuff. Oh, man, was that decadent.

Just reading this has made me want to make homemade ice cream this summer. I'm inspired!

For the green-tea ice cream, I take any vanilla ice cream recipe (last night I think I did something like 2.5 cups cream, 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, but I'll double check in a little bit) and add a paste that I've made with a teaspoon of green-tea powder (matcha) and enough hot water to make a thin paste. You can vary the amount of tea to taste. If you can't find matcha out there in the sticks, I will be happy to send you some.
