Jul. 27th, 2008 11:14 amIt really sank in yesterday that I'm doing too much, especially now that I have a new job and a new kid. So help me, will you? Love me anyway when I say "Nope, can't do that fun thing with you that I really want to do." This next 18 months or so will be about going to work, keeping a clean and happy home, and spending time with my loved ones. If you want to see me, please do come by for dinner some night. We eat at 7, and we're happy to share what we're having with you. Otherwise, here I'll be on LJ when time permits, and we'll see how things go in 2010, when the munchkin turns 18, shall we?

Date: 2008-07-27 06:42 pm (UTC)I think setting boundaries for your time is healthy, especially when raising a teenager (Been there done that, and *whew* he's grown and on his own now). Just simply being available, emotionally and physically, for a child is a huge responsibility.
I tend to get stressed when the housework and cooking get behind or out of control, so I really have limited my activities so that our apartment is a haven for us after working our jobs.
*sending you good thoughts in your new adventures*
Hopefully between now and 2010, we can share a potluck supper. :)

Date: 2008-07-27 11:28 pm (UTC)I completely understand the priority thing. It's not that I don't want to see friends, internet or IRL...just that there are only 24 hours in the day and only one of me. Take care of yourself and family.
