Mom said it was hard getting the Munchkin up for school this morning, but he did get up and he did go. AND she and his teacher arranged for him to start a few hours later in the day, which will probably help, as well.

Yay!

If he's really hatin' on school, maybe he needs to think about alternatives. I've seen many kids turn around with the help of this book: The Teenage Liberation Handbook. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Teenage_Liberation_Handbook)

Just a suggestion...

He totally doesn't hate school. He's 18 and could quit if he wanted, but he wants to finish. Thing is, he'd rather lie around and play video games, which of course most of us would like to spend our days doing. :-)

But thanks for the suggestion. [livejournal.com profile] wtfpotatoes is responsible for exploring alternatives to high school if she doesn't want to go in a month, and I'll pass on the link to her.

It also explores the idea of staying in school... the concept is to take charge of your life, taking responsibility for your own actions (and getting the benefits). It's a great resource for all teens feeling frustrated or bogged down (which, eventually, is all of 'em, right?).

Well yay. :) Is it the schoolwork or the schedule that's hardest?
