Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] clever_doberman, along with at least one of her answers.

1. What time did you get up this morning? Right around 7, but then I went back to sleep on the recliner for a bit. Damn hips.
2. Diamonds or pearls? Neither, thanks. Anyone who would buy me diamonds hasn't heard my rants about them, and I mostly avoid animal-derived clothing and jewelry, so no pearls.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Ooh, good question. Lemme think. No, better yet -- let me ask [livejournal.com profile] stonebender. Well, he doesn't know. I think maybe Iron Man.
4. What is your favorite TV show? That's a toughie, too. Current faves are Heroes, Doctor Who, and Torchwood. All-time fave is probably The West Wing.
5. What do you usually have for breakfast? On weekdays, an apple and some crackers at work. On weekends, it varies wildly. Yesterday, it was lazy chilaquiles (eggs scrambled with onions and peppers, served over tortilla chips with some enchilada sauce tossed on them). Today, it was a pancake and some leftover tuna casserole.
6. What is your middle name? Joan
7. What food do you dislike? cinnamon, cumin, cloves, caraway seeds, raw papaya (it's fine dried or canned), brussels sprouts, Cheerios, and lots of combinations that other people like (pb&j, fruit with chocolate, etc.)
8. What is your favorite CD at the moment? For the past several years, it's been August and Everything After, by Counting Crows. I get into musical ruts, and I like them.
9. What kind of vehicle(s) do you drive? Birkenstocks with holes worn through the soles; a Zipcar (once in a great while)
10. Favorite sandwich? Tomato, avocado, sprouts, and mayo on soft whole-wheat bread.
11. What characteristic do you despise? Cruelty. The unwillingness to ever be wrong.
12. Favorite item of clothing? being naked
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? To see my mom.
14. Where would you retire to? Right here. This neighborhood.
15. What was your most recent memorable birthday? My 40th. [livejournal.com profile] loracs threw me a party, and I was doped up on Codeine the whole time.
16.
17.
18. When is your birthday? 9/20/1966
19. Morning person or a night person? I'm really flexible about that. It depends on my work schedule, mostly.
20. What is your shoe size? 45 (Birkenstocks use European sizing.)
21. Pets? Nope.
23. What did you want to be when you were little? A singer. Never anything else, and I realized that dream when I was still a teenager.
24. How are you today? A little ouchy, but happy.
25. What is your favorite flower? I like cheerful flowers -- daisies, sunflowers, morning glories, etc.
26. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to? My birthday.
27. What are you listening to right now? The munchkin crunching potato chips and playing World of Warcraft; my own typing.
28. What was the last thing you ate? Barbecue kettle chips
29. Do you wish on stars? Nope
30. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Red
31. How is the weather right now? Lovely. Sweater weather, and it feels like a storm might be coming, but it's warm enough to walk outside in shirtsleeves if you want.
32. Last person you spoke to on the phone? [livejournal.com profile] sogwife
33. Favorite soft drink? water
34. Favorite restaurant? Lately, I'm pretty much always in the mood for Thai food.
35. Hair color? Dark brown with dyed-reddish ends
36. What was your favorite toy as a child? I had a few: Mrs. Beasley, the Shape-O ball, my Barbies, and Ursula (the doll whose facial expression changed when you turned a knob on her head)
37. Summer or winter? In San Diego, I would choose winter; up here, probably summer.
38. Chocolate or Vanilla? Either. I don't care much about either one. They both smell better to me than they taste.
39. Coffee or tea? Either, but I like my coffee very light and very sweet, or I can't be bothered, and I don't like flowers or fruit in my tea unless I'm in the mood for a cup of jasmine tea with dinner.
40. Do you want your friends to email you back? Well, sure, but I don't require it.
41. When was the last time you cried? I don't know, but I cry easily, so it probably wasn't long ago.
42. What is under your bed? The carpet
43. What did you do last night? Made tuna casserole; hung laundry; watched some videos.
44. What are you afraid of? Death. (Not dying; death.)
45. Salty or sweet? Salty.
46. How many keys on your ring? SO many. Too many.
47. How many years at your current job? I've been at Cal for two weeks, at 4TheBest for almost three years, and a housewife for almost exactly ten years.
48. Favorite day of the week? I don't have a favorite.
49. Do you make friends easily? Not close friends, no, though I'm friendly with most people, and have lots of people I'd call "friendly acquaintances".
50.
51.
52. Do you like finding out all this stuff about your friends? Yep.

45?????? You have HUGE feet!!! I mean, I think I'm taller than you (5'9"--am I right?) and I wear a 40 or 41, and I have feet that are slightly large for my height.

Did you get the Counting Crows songs I put up in my journal last month? *g*

You have HUGE feet!!

I DO! Cute-poet-chick called them "practical feet". She was very round, but very small-boned, and had tiny little feet that she thought were impractical for her size. She very much admired my tuna boats. :-)

Also, I'm so glad you asked me about last month's entries, because I'm looking through your LJ and realizing that yours is one (my partner [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's is another) whose posts don't always show up on my friends list -- in fact, I've seen about a third of your posts, and didn't realize it. I have a special bookmark folder for those journals, so I'll catch more of your posts from now on. I've reported it to LJ, but nothing ever comes of it.

I'm actually a little teary-eyed, but Duritz does something to me deep down inside, and this just adds to it so much.

Oh, well, then in that case you need these videos (http://www.blof.nl/Nieuws.aspx?Id={77882EC0-96A0-4B36-973E-CE300152E6A8}), too. (Ignore the Dutch and scroll down.)

TOTAL MUSICGASM. I was incoherent the night they put those up. I'm particularly a fan of their combined "Sullivan Street." I am totally going to that festival next summer...

Oh, oh, and the performance of the bilingual "Holiday in Spain" is freaking amazing. Duritz tries to sing along with the Dutch words! *so much love*

Why was I not theeeeeere? *whines*

Ahem. I will stop now, don't worry. *g*

Is your anti-diamond rant about mining? How do you feel about lab-grown diamonds?

"44. What are you afraid of? Death. (Not dying; death.)"

Interesting. I'm the other way around. I don't like pain or even discomfort. I'm terrified of dying. OTOH, I almost look forward to being dead.
