THEN: 31
NOW: 41
2) Where did you go to school?
THEN: I was back in school to finally finish up the longest-term AA in history (I think it took me around 15 years to get)
NOW: I work at UC Berkeley, but I haven't been in school in ages
3) Where did you work?
THEN: I was raising two children, ages 6 and 8
NOW: I work half the time at UC Berkeley, half the time at a webcommerce company, and the other half the time as a homemaker. When I can make myself sit the ass in the chair, I also write.
4) Where did you live?
THEN: Chula Vista, California, in a cool apartment above my mom's garage, with vaulted ceilings and a nice big bathtub.
NOW: Oakland, California, in a funky basement that I adore, withsomeotherguy and wtfpotatoes and sometimes sogwife
5) How was your hairstyle?
THEN: Same as now
NOW: Long, unruly, usually up on my head
6) Did you wear braces?
THEN: No. I got them off when I was 21 or so.
NOW: No.
7) Did you wear contacts?
THEN: No
NOW: No
8) Did you wear glasses?
THEN: No.
NOW:No.
9) Who was your best friend?
THEN: TOTGA
NOW: my partners
10) Which of your pets were still alive?
THEN: Bob and Precious and Tommy. Bob and Precious were twin kittens, and Tommy was their six-months-older brother
NOW: I have no pets.
11) Who was your boyfriend/girlfriend?
THEN: TOTGA

12) Who was your celebrity crush?
THEN: I think I stopped crushing on celebrities when I was 13
NOW: See above. I don't really crush on celebrities.

THEN: TOTGA, and Naked-guy
NOW: I haven't had a blazing crush on anyone in a fairly long while, but I get kind of tongue-tied around a couple of people;fightingtiger comes to mind.
14) How many piercings did you have?
THEN: three - two in one earlobe, one in the other
NOW: I haven't checked, but if they haven't closed up, still three
15) How many tattoos did you have?
THEN: None.
NOW: None.
16) What was your favourite band/singer?
THEN: Probably Indigo Girls
NOW: So hard to choose, but I've been grooving on Counting Crows a lot lately
17) Had you smoked cigarettes?
THEN: Yes, but not in many, many years.
NOW: Still yes, but not in many, many years.

THEN: Nope
NOW: No
19) Had you DRIVEN?
THEN: Yes.
NOW: Yes.

THEN: I was driving whatever car my mom had at the time. I didn't drive much, though, because I was a stay-at-home parent and we walked places a fair bit.
NOW: I walk holes in my Birkenstocks.
21) Looking back, are you where you thought you would be in 2008?
HA. Um. NO. Nowhere NEAR. I think she would have flatly disbelieved you had you told 31-year-old me where she'd be in ten years.
