Sep. 19th, 2008 12:27 pmThis may seem weird to some people, but sitting all morning in the slush pile, reading submissions to 42, is making me feel so happy and loved. If it weren't for this, I'm pretty sure I'd be curled up in the closet in the fetal position.
Thank you to everyone who has poured time and energy into this project. We're still looking for submissions, lots of them, and we may even be going full-color on the cover, so if you've got cover art that fits the theme, I'd love to see it.

Date: 2008-09-20 05:10 am (UTC)This post reminds me to get my recipes to you! Do I need to submit with photos of the finished product?
ps: Turns out that this weekend won't work to pick up the books, will Monday after work, work for you? Let me know what time is best after 5:30.

Date: 2008-09-20 07:18 am (UTC)The main thing on the recipes is that they use only ingredients to be found in an average food market. Unless, of course, you want to pitch a whole article with a different focus -- say, local foods, or how to cook family foods to bring the generations in your family together, or whatever. Go with your passion and write it well, is my basic advice.
