Good news post, at last!

Good news, yay. About time, huh?
1) Mom's problem resolved itself! She should be going home Sunday, with no
dangerous, major surgery. There are no words for what a relief this is,
or for what a rollercoaster yesterday was.
2) My foster-sister, Cindy, who you may remember from the time y'all
bailed her out of probable homelessness, has FINALLY left her deadbeat
husband. Cindy is addicted to housework; my mom needs help around the
house. Cindy and my mom get along like gangbusters. My mom is excited to
be able to help Cindy out with a place to stay, and Cindy's excited to be
able to help my mom, who she adores. Win-win-win, I'd say!
3) While two Lactaid pills are no match for an entire pint of coffee
Haagen-Dazs, neither is a case of anxiety. Comfort food WORKS, people. Use
it. :-)
4) The kid's transcripts finally came, and she's transitioned from an
all-electives schedule to taking things like college-prep English. Maybe
she'll be less bored with school now, though she's doing a great job of
keeping up with it even when it bores her.

So you triggered two more Obama votes in Pennsylvania. :)

Have you tried the Coffee Bean Blast they've been selling at Trader Joe's for the past few months? It's much cheaper by the quart (only $3.99) and it's pretty darned good. Because of it, I haven't slurped up any Haagen Dazs since summertime.
