Heading off in an hour or so to go to the t'day potluck at work. It's the kind of thing I usually skipped as a temp, but I find myself looking forward to it as a permanent employee.

Anyway, the roasted-pumpkin pie is baked, the chicken pot pie is in the oven, and the cream is whipping. Should be fun.

My old office had their Turkey potluck today and my ex Best Boss Ever told me I HAD to come. It was very bitter sweet seeing everyone. And the food, as usual was outrageous. All the normal turkey day stuff plus pot-stickers, fresh crab in a tomato sauce, giant pot of greens with smoke turkey, potatoes of various types, fried chicken, a Libyan hot sauce (yum - need fire extinguisher to put my lips out), bbq meatballs etc. And then there were the desserts. I picked up a tiramisu cake to contribute to the myriad pies, cakes and fruit trays. Plus my best ex cube mate made persimmon pudding with a whiskey sauce to pour over it if you wished. It was delicious.

I'm sure your potluck was just as fab.

Ours was pretty good, but doesn't sound like it was as good as yours. Let's see if I can remember everything:

Store-bought roasted chicken
Spinach dip and crackers
Cranberry/jello salad
Dinner rolls
Asian cabbage salad
Green salad
Chicken pot pie
Cornbread stuffing with chicken-apple sausage
Green beans with potatoes
Brussels sprouts roasted with bacon
Corn pudding
Meat and cheese tray with crackers
Dinner rolls
Turkey meatballs with cranberry glaze
Desserts: Roasted pumpkin pie, chocolate cake, Scottish tablet, pumpkin-nut bread
Roasted pumpkin pie
Various juices and coffee

I think that's everything.

My ex "best boss ever" made little bundles of fresh green beans held together with a strip of bacon. It was very cute and very tasty.
