Happy things, day 4. Blessings on those who have been doing the happy-things thing, because it's been a decidedly difficult week for me, and accessing my happy place has been harder than usual.

1) Knowing that this difficulty is not permanent, and that my life never stays difficult

2) Grilled cheese and tomato soup, lovingly prepared by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy

3) Very lovely gift from [livejournal.com profile] kightp, who has much talent and loveliness herownself

4) [data embargo]

5) The teenager will not be gone-and-miserable forever. She will come home to me and we can watch movies together and open Giftmas presents, and so on.

Anything I can do to balance out the current difficulties?

From experience, the miserable is easier to bear when you know you can go home afterwards, so it's not as bad as when she lived there.

Though like toddlers unhappy in nursery school, being allowed to express the misery might make it *look* worse because there's more crying when you get home again.

(Number 4 made me snigger).
