I read Charing Cross years and years ago, and don't remember it at all. I haven't even heard of Turtle Diary. I don't see it on Netflix. I'll check the library.
It amazes me that Anthony Hopkins can do stuff like this, and Remains Of The Day, and then go off and be Van Helsing and Hannibal Lecter. That's what you call *range*.
I love it, but someone who'll remain nameless gave me a copy to read on the plane back from the US to Australia some years ago. I think I finished it only a short while before the plane landed, so I haven't been brave enough to read it again.
We saw it a few months ago. Very moving. Brought tears to my eyes. All the more to know that this was a real story. I took a look at the book, with the original letters. The movie was quite accurate.
