Woke feeling oogy. Legs were very swollen with pitting edema (something I don't usually get), and head felt fuzzy. A little weird in the tummy, too. Didn't indulge my deep urge to go back to bed, because I had last-minute birthday shopping to do.

Bought presents and a cake. Took birthday girl to her birthday lunch, where I felt like I was being annoying, because I was on edge.loracs/stonebender/dbubley utterly swooped me and paid for the whole lunch, which I think I would have been more skillful at avoiding if I'd been well. Thank you, you guys. I don't deserve you.

Felt worse after lunch. Took the birthday girl shopping for some of her gifts (Ingrid Michaelson x 2, a cello CD, some little gifts for us), resisted collapse until we got home, and then went home and crashed. No dinner. It's around 9pm, and I still feel sick, so I'm going back to bed soon.

I'm happy that the munchkin got a bunch of attention today, even if she was sleep-deprived and not inclined to let on that it meant something to her. She says she had a good birthday, even if it meant she missed the first raid of the year.

Thanks. I do, too! The feeling is unlike any I've had before, so I don't even know what's wrong with me, darnit. At least if I had a cold, I could say, "Okay, I have a cold. I'll push fluids and get lots of rest and it'll be over in a week." :-)

I know. I hate having new symptoms. For what it's worth, I had something edema-ish after my last operation, too. (But I had general.)

Normally, I might demur, but today, with the teenager who hadn't slept in two days so she could do end-of-year and then beginning-of-year WoW raids, working my very last sick-as-a-dog nerve while I made sure to be sweet and accommodating because hey, it's her birthday and no one ever gives her her props on her birthday because they're too busy recovering from Christmas?

Oh, yes. I rock MIGHTILY. :-)

Sorry you felt so bad today. I hope you're feeling better now. Could this be a side effect of the procedure or the medication?

I think the birthday lunch was very nice - good food (TURNIP CAKES), good company (I didn't feel you were being annoying), cake and watching birthday girl doing her psychic present unwrapping.

I came home and once everyone was settled, went to bed and slept from about 6 pm to 10 pm. Too much excitement? ;-)
