I just found out that Duotrope has 42 (erroneously) listed as a
non-paying market. Imagine how many more submissions we'll get when they
fix that. Yay!
Last night, the hardest part was telling people I like that I don't want
to publish their writing. I sure hope they'll submit other things in the
future, especially after they see the other things we chose to print.
The best part, of course, was running across the occasional complete
fucking GEM of a piece of writing. It's better than I hoped it would be.
It's like nirvana or some such sappy shit.

Date: 2009-01-23 06:37 pm (UTC)No, it's not hard to navigate, but it doesn't tell me what reading six issues would.
Or twelve.
To be honest, I have no idea how many I'd need to read to have an idea that I had an idea of what you're looking for.
This is probably why I self-published the pomes, really.

Date: 2009-01-23 08:13 pm (UTC)This is why I asked you about the breastfeeding piece. I think it adds meaning to your life to know about breastfeeding and to share that knowledge with the world. When I think of you, I also think of feminism, the Nestle boycott (oh, man, if you could write an article about THAT!), how hard it is raising girls in a world that devalues them from birth (vis. the difference between girls' clothing and boys'), and a bunch of other things that make you light up. Want to write something about how an Irish girl in England developed a love affair with an American President? :-)
