Thank you, everyone, for my lovely Valentines! There were several anonymous ones. I have a feeling I know who sent "Your wish is my command" -- thank you, and *I* *wish*. ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! My Glamorous Poly Lifestyle(tm) today will consist of:

1) Hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy and [livejournal.com profile] wtfpotatoes
2) Getting lots of rest, if not sleep
3) Working on the magazine
4) Battling the glamorous ants in the glamorously dirty kitchen
5) Mailing out books with [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy's help

If I don't get to anything past #2, then that's fine, too.

What's your weekend looking like?

I just got dressed. Now I am going to bake some brownies, then I am going to take said brownies and assorted other goodies to my parents/sisters house and hang out. All around a good day!

I'm (I think) on the mend from a horrid cold - no big deal in the Greater Scheme of Things, but it's had me snotty and congested and vaguely feverish for the past couple of days, and now I'm at the point of "OK, dammit, I need to at least muster the energy to get a shower, because EWWWWWW."

But I've managed to get a batch of no-knead bread going, and will shape it for baking in a little while, and then there will be warm homemade bread to go with leftovers of the fabulous pork roast I made two nights ago. And I think I may even be at the point where I can *taste* it again.

Valentine's consisted of a mushy e-mail to my beloved. Non-infectious, at least!

My Glamorous Bisexual Lifestyle today involved roping in some friends to help me move my treadmill upstairs (successfully accomplished) and watching a few episodes of Boston Legal S3, which I *adore*. And now it's evening, and I'm just about to go make myself a Black Russian and settle down to watch Blood & Chocolate (werewolf flick).

Most of my day was spent lying about in bed with my big dog: sleeping, making grocery lists, watching The Guild (for the first time... FUN!), and observing the contents of my sinuses as they rapidly cycled between running out my nose and becoming as solid as ironwood.

I was feeling very anti-V-Day, and then I read this. It's even helping me to deal with the weird emotional tension in this house of marital disintegration.

Working part of it (from home, but still). Was going to do some catchup LJ posting, but am a bit crabby after waiting half an hour for someone on one of the work things so might call my folks and call it a night. Got rid of 3 things though (mailed them out).

I did get my shopping and errands done without getting paged or rained on overly, so that's a plus.

Was there a site you were selling books on or is this freecycle? I am considering selling whatever the market will bear to fund my Gift Economy habits (with the side benefit of getting stuff out of the house).

I sold my books here on LJ, to my friends. I have had friends who've made some money selling books on half.com, though, and Half Price and Pegasus/Pendragon pay cash for books, though I'm not sure how much money they have in this economy.

[livejournal.com profile] epi_lj and I slept in late yesterday, and then we got up and had breakfast, and then [livejournal.com profile] clawfoot came over and we played lots of Rock Band 2 (my band member is named pingu! only with an umlaut on the u!). Then Sarah played this game called Flower which was very pretty to look at while [livejournal.com profile] epi_lj was making dinner. [livejournal.com profile] okoshun and [livejournal.com profile] elwoodontario came over for dinner, which was tasty: spaghetti and soy meatballs and tomato sauce, garlic bread, and then ZOMG desserts: chocolate cake that If made and vanilla cake that Sarah made and custard tarts that 'San and Lorne brought and cookies that I made. (Maybe we should have coordinated that part a little better.)

Then we all played more Rock Band 2 and then we played Wizard (the card game) and Apples to Apples. Then San and Lorne went back to his place and Sarah and If and I fiddled with our Rock Band characters some more. And then she went home and If and I went to bed.

And now I am sitting in bed while If sleeps next to me and two cats groom themselves assidiously and give me imploring looks despite being fed several hours ago.
