Inspired by a post from black_pearl_10, I just want to say this to everyone reading my LJ:

If you have a "race card" to play, please play it*, so that you can help me learn the rules of the game. It's not your job to educate me, but I want to make it really clear that I appreciate learning from you, and I don't want to ever be a part of silencing you.

*browwrinkle* I don't know how to respond to this. I've been participating in discussions about race online for a long time, but I have no idea what you meant to say, in your post.

I mean to say I'm never going to tell someone who tells me that X or Y is about race that they're "playing the race card" in order to shut them down.
