I love talking about myself, I do. Whenever I'm in a conversation in person or online, eventually the subject gets oh-so-unsubtly twisted to mememe. So why do I feel so awkward and stilted whenever I attempt anything like a journal? Hm.

I don't *think* that's it (I find myself alternately fascinating and stupefying). It feels like it might be a situation of feeling more chatty in response to others' statements/questions than I do from a dead stop. I also have better luck writing from writing prompts than starting from scratch. *still pondering*

The thing I find hard about online journal writing (my weblog's not very journaly although it is chock full of content) is the lack of context. How do you decide what to write about? How do you figure out if anyone will find it interesting? I just decided not to care and to assume that nobody will read it anyway. Works fabulously.

*smile* I just like to keep in touch with people, let them know what's going on in my life, that kind of stuff. I'm seriously thinking about dropping USENET - Too Many Random Jerks; this place I can have at least as good conversations, most of the people I really care about are here (with a few blatant exceptions), it's just generally more mellow.
