I had big plans for the weekend that included getting done dozens of things. Here's what I did instead:

  • Read two thirds of Black Betty
  • Slept a LOT; played a lot of mindless online games; rested a lot
  • Fixed the alignment errors in the magazine (but did not get it back to the printer yet. I'll do it tomorrow, since the printer is near work)
  • Put away a load of dishes
  • Cleaned off the counter in the kitchen
  • Washed just enough clothes so that I don't have to go to work naked tomorrow
  • Got a new guinea pig
  • Shopped for and bought (in person) paint and paint supplies so that [livejournal.com profile] wtfpotatoes can paint her new room before she moves in (or, um, rather, before she stores her stuff in there. Like her sofa. And her computer. You know. It's a storeroom.)
  • Shopped for and bought (online) a new wireless system so that [livejournal.com profile] wtfpotatoes can have internet in her new room (it's working great)
  • Shopped for and cooked carnitas, a pork roast, some garlic gravy, breakfast for me and [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy, and a big pot of chicken stock

Now I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's to do as little as possible. Have a great Sunday, those of you who are still in Sunday.

Oh, yes, she's getting a new (store)room! The landlady put lights and outlets into a really cute, teeny-tiny windowed sunporch that was being used for dusty, dusty storage, and offered half a garage to the tenants upstairs who have been using it up until now. We're gonna use it for "storage" (not a bedroom), because a bedroom would be illegal and all. But it's right outside our door (and up a few steps), with its own entrance and no access to the upstairs neighbors' house, so it's PERFECT.

And then, as though our landlady weren't wonderful enough, she's also an adoptive parent, so she took pity on our wallets and decided that at rent-increase time, she will raise everyone's rent but ours so that we can afford the $75 a month she's going to charge us for the storeroom.

That's better than I've been able to do (although providing 300+ meals is, as they say, a major accomplishment). Rock on!

I am going to evict the cuddling tortie and do some dishes. Laundry load one is in. Food looks like it is going to happen too. I'm hoping to get the butternut dal done this weekend.
