1) Woke full of anxiety (not usual for me, possibly hormonal, possibly a result of the new level of meds (which would be 'hormonal', too, come to think of it)) and tickle-throated -- that time in the end of a cold when you sound a lot sicker than you are. Kept trying to get it together to go to work, but by 12:30, it wasn't happening, so I emailed in sick. Fortunately, flexible hours are an official part of my job, so I'll just make up the hours later in the week.

2) Broke my own rule yesterday and blogged about blogging, and the response reminded me why I don't do that.

3) Munchkin The Elder got his driver's license today, and now that he has both that and his shiny new high school diploma, he can go out and look for a decent job while he waits to start community college. That's way awesome.

4) Chorizo is yummy.

A while back I was visiting friends in Texas and in a trip to the grocery store I saw "soyrizo" -- veggie (soy) chorizo. They were horrified, which meant that I had to buy it, of course. On the last morning I was to be there, I fried it up with some peppers and onions and scrambled eggs. It was actually extremely delicious, and even the wary companions tried it and pronounced it surprisingly good.

We love soyrizo, and eat it fairly often -- when we can get it for less than an arm and a leg. :-) It's more like taco meat than chorizo, but we use it for tacos anyway, so it's all good.
