A day off is a thing of joy for 24 hours

It's been so crazy around here, I don't even know what I've told you and what I haven't. I took six days at Thanksgiving (rather than the usual 4). Today, I am guarding my downtime ferociously. No one will make me move from my home today unless it's a genu-wine emergency.

Speaking of genuine emergencies, the past two weeks:

• My dad almost died
• dbubley was (and still is) really sick
• We are facing a possible steep drop in income (as surprised as even I am to know that's even possible) (and the chance is smaller today than it was a few days ago)
• After some months of very little pain, I had a couple high-pain days
• There's a lot of stress at work. None of it's got anything to do with me, but it rubs off
• My sister is very, very ill, and the only thing she does to break up the monotony of being in the hospital is to call and work the teenager into an angst ball. Again, not really about me, but ya know. It rubs off.
• My partners have been under a lot of stress, too. It does rub off, as I've mentioned.

But some good stuff is going on, too.

• I am still having fun with my new blog, even after moving to daily posts in mid-September.
• I really love my job and have hit a good, productive stride with it this week.
• Even though we're all under a lot of stress, my family is being really loving and lovely lately. I'm more in love than ever, and I'm really enjoying the kid, as well.
• I'm going to FOGcon!
• Munchkin The Elder is coming up for a few days at Giftmas

OMIGOSH. Okay, I would like right this minute to reserve a dinnertime with you, and I promise not to eat anything gross. Pick a night! I'm local, obviously, so it can even be a night before or after the con, if that's easier on you logistically.
