It's possibly my iconically perfect show: a mystery every episode; a flawed detective who still does most things right; a social conscience; not too much about the people's personal lives; the good guys win most of the time, but not always; the characters feel real. There's even the occasional good woman character (even a lesbian detective last episode, and this was 20+ years ago), but it'd be great if there were more. Still, I'm really liking this show.
Since there are only three episodes per season, I'm happy there are so, so many seasons to watch. I'm only most of the way through season 2 at the moment.
