In other news, I may be less mature than that. Lately, nothing holds my interest. I put down a book after a chapter or two. I write a paragraph or less and then give up. I go into an IRC channel or onto ICQ and /part for no good reason. I don't feel depressed, just tired. Maybe I should go be a really little kid and take a nap on a mat in the living room.

But there's stuff to do if I can get the motivation together to do it, and books to be read, and a life and career to proceed with. Can I just take today off? I promise to come back to my life tomorrow.

It sounds like you need a vacation - one of those vacations where you do nothing but rest and recharge. You should come up here and let Mary and I pamper you :):).

Finished putting away the groceries, throwing away the not-sweet-at-all watermelon (I didn't have high hopes anyway given the date), and loading the dishwasher. Now it's time to take my tasty serial-killer novel to bed with me and just savor the alone-time. See you tomorrow.

Have you read any of John Douglas's books? Nonfiction, by the "nation's foremost authority on serial killers and criminal profiling". An FBI guy.
