The weather is cool and cloudy today, and there's nothing to do at work. I wish I were outside, but I'll be able to leave in 30 minutes and enjoy the breeze.

Tonight I will make a vegan "shepherd's pie" and maybe also some soup. I love soup when the weather is cold. It's comfort food.

For my mother's birthday, we are going to surprise her by painting her living room. Blue, I think. I'm excited. (Her birthday is the 4th of August.)

I had a little argument with cute-poet-chick yesterday, and I'm eager to go home and really make up. I don't like it when we are angry with each other, and a quick "I'm sorry" on the phone doesn't really reassure me as much as an in-person making-up.

I'm trying very hard to imagine how you're going to get your mother out of the living room long enough for you to move all the furniture, paint it, and put the furniture back, without her suspecting something.

I say the answer must lie in drugs. Knock her out with her morning coffee and by the time she wakes up during tea time she'll love the blue so much she'll hardly complain the nap wsn't natural.
