I almost cried

sereneLandlady: I’m gonna put a washer and dryer in your place soon. Let me know when it’s a good time for me to come and look at the space.
Me: Oh, come on in.
The place is clean. On short notice, not because we cleaned like maniacs for the previous 24 hours. James even made the bed when he got up, so when she wanted to look at the floors to get an idea of the new tile situation, I also could say, blithely, Come on back!
I swear I’m getting kind of choked up.
Now, we did have to clear out the storeroom to make room for the washer/dryer, but I freecycled or tossed a bunch of what came out, so it'll be easier to maneuver back there anyway.
