December 2: Jobhunt

So I want to talk about jobhunting. This, I know, can be traumatic (or possibly worse—boring) to read about, so it's all under......here.
I was a temp for 25+ years, and part of the reason I was a temp for so long was because I hate, loathe, and despise jobhunting. My first job was a sales job I sucked at—no jobhunt. My second job was a youth-program placement—no jobhunt. My best friend got me my third job, as a pizza cook/waitron, and then I started temping.
So really, I have no business whining about how much I hate this, because I haven't really had to do it before, not much.
Today, however, something happened that means I may be able to take a leap and set up my home editorial-services business for real.
I shopped for Obamacare.
My current premiums for the three of us are $1600 or so a month. Under the Affordable Care Act, we can get coverage for a tiny fraction of that. I pay no rent. My mother buys a large percentage of our groceries (we buy them when we shop, but if she's with us, she insists on paying). If I also didn't have to come up with $1600 a month for health coverage, my expenses would drop to nearly nothing.
So I talked to James, and the tentative plan is like so:
1) Keep looking for work, but only put in for the really dream-jobby stuff.
2) Fix up my website and start looking for clients, including hitting up my former clients, all of whom have liked my work enough to hire me multiple times.
3) Help my dad with the social media for his new business.
4) Temp if necessary to fill in the gaps in the meantime.
5) ?
6) Profit.
Thoughts are welcome. Whether or not I answer your thoughts will depend on my level of energy.
