Will my efforts be foiled?

So I'm at my brother's. First night with internet and no partner to annoy by staying up late in, well, as long as I can remember, so I fired up his cable modem. Okay, well, maybe his processor is really really slow.

Things I can do on my brother's cable modem:

Check webmail
Check LJ
Use Yahoo! Messenger (sandravannoy)

Things I cannot do on my brother's cable modem:

Anything quickly
Respond to webmail (important personal mail was just eaten)
Connect to irc.openprojects.net on mIRC
Use ICQ
Use AIM

So here I sit, with a quiet Y!M and a blank-ish LJ, and you get to be subjected to the sleep-deprived ramblings of one melancholy serene. Don't you feel privileged?

Apologies. *Major* crash bug in Trillian's Y!M support, apparently. Three crashes in quick succession makes Brian stop trying.
