I make lists. It's something I do, have always done, am probably a little compulsive about. My task list in Outlook at work is full and well used. I make grocery lists, lists of things to do, and The List, which I've shared here before.

Today, I listed some of the people in my life that I love, and one really good thing about each of them (not necessarily their best good thing or the thing they would choose for me to focus on, but a good thing from my point of view, because as we all know, it's all about mememe). It's making me feel happy and wealthy, so I've posted it here.

My mother: Is always thrilled to see me.

Cute-poet-chick: Is unfailingly gentle with me, even when I'm frustrating the shit out of her.

The niblings: Keep loving me deeply and strongly no matter how often I disappoint them.

[livejournal.com profile] stonebender: Is the only person I like talking to on the phone, because we never run out of things to talk about.

[livejournal.com profile] someotherguy: Is so much like me that it's almost scary -- not sure that's technically a good thing, but it's happymaking for us, so I'm counting it. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] sogwife: Has the best smile, and has never failed to smile when she looks at me.

[livejournal.com profile] lcohen: Asks the smartest, most perceptive, most loving questions just when I need to hear them.

[livejournal.com profile] firecat: Is my perennial example of how to put language to feelings.

yummy vegan boy: Knows how to make me laugh.

the boy genius: Is chock-full of integrity.

*grin* Oh, right, I was supposed to tell them about your laudable sexual prowess! How stupid of me. ;-)

(ObBrat: I *said* it wasn't necessary the best thing. :-) It was just what I was happy about in the moment, which happened to be right before we were gonna have a phone date. :-)

…but apparently a level of integrity I could stand to improve still further seeing how I managed not to carefully enough monitor your blog to observe in a timely manner this very kind and thoughtful gesture of yours.

The genius thing is a bit hyped up also, considering that even I am aware that the circle of people I associate with in my local world aren’t quite the sharpest knives in the socio-political drawer. It’s actually a term of endearment she gave me when she met me at age 17 because I was showing such pitiful but fierce effort to find havens of philosophical insight online. (One of which we met in.)

I am now 22 and unfortunately flooded in an enduring tide of full-time work and college, which prevents me from investing nearly the amount of time into meeting and communicating with wonderful people like our mutual friend Serene online. Someday, that will change though. I even plan to be become a California resident like my old mentor Serene after this present time of hardship, in particularly stark contrast to my present Tennessee citizenship.

Cheers, my fellow Serene appreciators!

I check it now and then. You're out of their league, it seems to me, but I don't keep up well enough to really judge them.

Yay, it's my boy-gee! Have we really known each other almost five years? I guess we have. Wow. Love you, Kev. *smooch* (And I know from smart -- you're extremely smart, and there's no reason to downplay that, though I probably make too big a deal out of it. When you were 17 and we met, I was certain I was having email conversations with a middle-aged philosopher. I didn't find you pitiful at all -- I am so happy to have been in the right place in order to meet you.)
