Jul. 3rd, 2002 11:42 amI love having the client at work. I don't have to access the web at all (our access is monitored), and I can keep it on my toolbar for when (lack of) inspiration hits me. Yay.
Started a stealth deadjournal, too, for stuff I don't really want to write about in public, but do want to write about. It's cool, because the client can post to whichever one I choose. I like.
Yummy vegan boy has decided to try again with his ex. His monogamous, somewhat jealous ex. We are now officially "just friends," and I'm not sure what that will mean or feel like.
I plan to sit down for a few minutes today and write a Kentucky trip report, but the short version is that it was enjoyable if tiring. I burned up a lot of emotional energy keeping my cheerfulness level at a constant pitch, but all in all I am really glad we went.

Jul. 3rd, 2002 12:38 pmIt's good that tomorrow is a paid holiday. After taking four unpaid days (three for the vacation, one for the back), it will be good to be paid to stay home and relax, with no obligations, no relatives to meet and visit, no Kentucky humidity, no deeds to do, no promises to keep. Ahhhhh.
What I really want is to leave work early, pick up some Thai food, and go eat in bed while reading a trashy novel. What I will do instead is go on my afternoon mail run, leave work at 2:30 on the dot, and then pick up some Thai food and go eat in bed while reading a trashy novel. That'll work.
We saw Waking Life last night. I must see it again at least once so that I can absorb some of the philosophical/ontological arguments. If I taught a philosophy class, I would show this film (and Koyaanisqatsi) every semester. It might be a snooze if the animation weren't so fascinating, but nonetheless, it raises and savors some of the timeless questions, and I loved it even when I didn't, if that makes any sense. Plus, anything for a chance to see Adam Goldberg.
