Try and tell me I don't live a charmed life. Go ahead, try.

Evidence the first:

Last night, the_ogre was a gracious host, and fed us wintry bean stew and the best sweet french bread, which I happily ate. I then happily ate the last piece when it was offered to me, even though he was eating it at the time. :-) Then we watched "Hellboy," which was a lot of fun.

Evidence the second:

sogwife found a place! That's a mile and a quarter from us! And is way cheap!! (It's also way small, but we gotta start somewhere, right?)

Evidence the third:

I got to spend a half hour snuggling with dryadgrl today and talking about her day, which kinda sucked, but holding my friend and cursing bureaucrats with her was good in its own way.

Evidence the fourth:

When I got home, sogwife handed me some yummy asparagus she'd made, and someotherguy made me the perfect cup of tea[1].

How lucky am I? Don't answer that; I know already.

[1] For reference, there are two "the perfect cup of tea"s: one is vegan, and one isn't. Since I'm being vegan today, I wanted half black, half mint tea, with lots of sugar. When I'm being not-vegan, the perfect cup of tea is strongish black tea with milk or cream and plenty of sugar.

Toothache. Ow. No dental insurance. Double-ow.

Anyone know a good dentist in Oakland or Berkeley?

If you like reading poetry, or like supporting local authors with actual talent, get "Pelt," by Daphne Gottlieb (final_girl). The description of killing the angel in the house ("death and the maiden and the information age") made me gasp. "gag reflex" made me have to put the book down for a while before I could pick it up again.

Some of it is just fun fluff, but a few pieces are you-gotta-read-this important. I recommend it.
