Her genius idea: Naked potluck wedding (hence no stress over clothes or shoes).

His genius idea (because he doesn't wanna go nekkid in public): *Clothing-optional* potluck wedding. Because one of the hosts is always supposed to stay clothed at those things.

I tell ya. There is no off position on the genius switch!

I made what I guess I would call sandwich alla caprese tonight. Heirloom tomatoes and fresh thai basil, tossed with olive oil, salt, and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Layered onto ciabatta rolls with fresh mozzarella. Cheaper than eating out, even with the $3-a-pound cherries, and we felt wealthy. (We could have gotten buffalo mozz, and wanted to, but it was twice the price. We're finding that we are buying the best foodstuffs we can afford, and that makes us really happy, but there's no reason to go overboard. :-)

I've been having a rough evening with my hips, so I've been sitting and lying on the couch, goofing off online and having someotherguy and sogwife bring me popcorn and aspirin. I finally had to get up to move around.

Me: I don't know how people sit all day, honey, I really don't.
Him: Practice, sweetie.
Me: True, but I'm not there yet...
...so maybe I should go lie down.

...or anything else you think would be fun for me. I can only take up to 15 of them (I'll happily replace some or all of the existing ones if y'all come through big), but I will save them all and rotate, if need be.

and the most exciting news of the week

...was meeting annburlingham, nooks, and henrygrosvenor. Such a delightful family. A cuter family I never met, and I got none of the cranky-baby-goodness I had been warned to expect. These are members of my chosen family, and I'm glad I finally got to be in the same space with them. Such a lucky woman am I.
