early to bed, but not to sleep

Trying to get some rest. Not sleepy, but so so so so so so so tired. My anemia has been very bad this last couple of days (due to my mental block against taking my iron. I'm doing better with it now, but it takes a long time for the levels to come back up). I was so tired, clumsy, and generally not well at work yesterday and today that it took all I had to finish my shifts.

After a good night's sleep and enough iron last night, I woke up feeling relatively good. Went and hung out with golden_c_turtle, who is a delight. We talked and talked, and I like her a lot. I can never have enough smart, funny, irreverent friends. And she bought me *tamales*! Real ones! Haven't had that since I left San Diego. Mmmmmmm. (She and I are very different in some ways, but in a lot of ways, we think the same, and react to life in similar ways. It was so joyous for me to have someone say "Yes, exactly!" to stuff that often elicits a blank stare or a snort of disbelief from other people.)

Interesting week in which Serene learns that anemia is not to be toyed with. Was nearly completely useless for a few days (went to work, but did little else). Some fun stuff and some not-so-fun:
