ambivalence

My co-workers/bosses are taking me out for a farewell lunch today. They're
taking me to sushi because they know I love sushi. I think it's terribly
sweet of them -- I'm the temp, so it's not like they have to do this, but
they're darling to do it. At the same time, I'm uncomfortable being the
center of attention, and I'm uncomfortable with the whole "We're gonna
miss you!" thing when it's their decision that I'm leaving, not mine.

Oh, well. Sushi's good. :-)

Closing in

Closing in on my self. This is not alarming or surprising to me -- it happens in times of stress (check) or change (check) or high demands on my social energy (half a check) or low sleep levels (check) or menses (check).

So I just ride it out. It's not depression; it's a streak of hermitty feelings, and it will end. This weekend, I may need to declare a pull-the-covers-over-my-head weekend. We'll see.
