Sitting listening to the 8am campanile at the Best Temp Job Ever. Two of
my cow-orkers got tickets to see Jimmy Carter and I didn't, *sob*! But
they will tell me every detail or else. :-)

Today promises to be a light day, so I will try to get some other work
done, but in reality, I'll probably spend a lot of time filling out
surveys or something.

By the by, yesterday was one of the very best days in recent memory. I am
a lucky girl.

Well, my encounter with the aloe plant wasn't without consequences, but
I'm not as bad off as I feared. Sprained wrist, I think, bruised
handbone, sore shoulder, but all really minor. Of all my klutzy injuries
this year, this one was probably the least traumatic.

So we were watching Mom and Dad Save the World, a schlockfest if ever
there was one. Teri Garr was getting all excited about their trip to
Outer Space.

Me: "I wanna go to Outer Space! You never take me anywhere!"

someotherguy: "What about that trip around the sun last year?"

Me: "Yeah, yeah, and the year before, and the year before that. We never
go anyplace new."

We crack ourselves up, we really do.

Some days, I want to take all people of all religious persuasions off my friendslist so I don't feel like such a fucking alien.

(Other days, I don't. Feel free to talk into the void; I haven't disabled comments, but I'm also unlikely to engage with them, especially those of the "But religious people aren't BAD!" ilk. If you don't already know that's not what I'm saying, I'm in no mood to convince you.)

I'm really sorry, babes, but I just can't cope with the Womboink right
now. I'm sorry I didn't give more notice, but I've been all about the
do-I-have-cancer?do-I-have-heart-thingies? stuff lately, and it's really
all I can do to keep up with my work and other obligations.

Folks who contributed to the Helpfund will get their money back this week
(I need a day to transfer it out of savings, and then I can either paypal
or whatever works for people; I'll send individual emails). Folks who
haven't already gotten their toffee will get it in due time AND their
money back this week.

Hope we'll be able to do it some other time. Thanks to everyone who let
me vent to them this week.
