Thanks, giving
Nov. 27th, 2008 08:05 amI was up at 7:15 or so; 45 minutes of vegging out has done me (and my aching back) some good, and I'm ready to go, but first, the gratitude:
1) I'm grateful for my family, in all their complicated, difficult, brilliant glory.
2) I'm grateful for my friends, who know me at my most annoying and awkward, and still keep coming around.
3) I'm grateful that I helped elect a president I can be proud of.
4) I'm grateful for penicillin.
5) I'm grateful that we had enough resources to offer our sofa to the munchkin.
6) I'm grateful for my astoundingly wonderful job.
7) I'm grateful that my mom is still alive and kicking.
8) I'm grateful that Cindy isn't homeless any more, and is helping my mom.
9) I'm grateful that I have a home to live in and food to eat.
10) I'm grateful to the people who grew, harvested, killed, packaged, picked, and/or otherwise contributed to the food we eat.
11) I'm grateful to ever author who ever gave me "permission" to be as eccentrically me as I wanted to.
12) I'm grateful for electricity; refrigeration; and reliable, clean, running water. These things make me richer than most of the people on earth.
13) I'm grateful for you. Yes, you. Having an audience was never really my goal; having a group of friends to share my days with was, and I'm so glad to have found you.
