So what is it I hate so much about training new people?

- There's the responsibility for their performance -- what if I forget something, or teach something to them wrong?

- There's interacting with another person steadily for two days (or more) in a row -- it wears me out, and makes my inner hermit want to scream.

- There's not knowing if they will fucking STAY!!

Yep. She quit. After three days, and after the hardest part of the training was over.

Fuck.

Oh, well, I get to start over tomorrow. Joy.

*delighted laugh* Thank you. That's about how I'm choosing to look at it.

Y'know, LARTs are very inexpensive, and you can probably even scrounge one from around the work site there....

*nods* The training for my current job was 9 weeks of intense study and prepwork, then oral exams and written. It was tough, no question. What I found interesting is that the person who didn't make it (the reason I was hired), went through the WHOLE process and then just didn't show up on exam day. I'm sure you can understand my boss' annoyance when you think of all the time they invested in that person! But I stuck and I think they like me - it'll be a year in September. Wow.

What do you do/are you training people for, anyhow?
