I'm a little depressed that I didn't get a zero on Bush, but at least he came in last.

Yep, it bugged me too that Bush got 2% for me, but that might be because I favor a balanced federal budget.

At http://www.politicalcompass.org/ if you hit the "US Primaries 2003" link you will see what they got running the candidates through their test. Dean comes out slight more authoritarian and right than Clark. Given Dean's somewhat pro States Rights view this isn't too surprising, he has his own views on some things but feels each state should be determining what their citizens think.

When I took the test you did, I got a cluster with Dean, Green, and LP at the top. It's unusual to be in total agreement or disagreement with almost anyone, even those that don't wear the same type of tinfoil hat oneself does.

Thanks for the pointer.

I'm pretty used to being out of step with at least one major plank on any party's platform. It keeps my voting life interesting.

In part, this is why some people suggest a change to voting schemes that allow you to rank your top N choices while voting. While primarily targeted at avoiding deadlock and various problems when there are more than two choices, it also has the effect of letting vote for several candidates that you feel share some views with.

Have you participated in this yet?:

It was very fulfilling for me, even if it wasn't the real election. It gave me a taste of what the world could be like, and it was mighty fine.

I see that I got a different selection by omitting undeclared candidates.
