From [livejournal.com profile] mactavish, who got it from [livejournal.com profile] rosefox via [livejournal.com profile] karenbynight, with an eye toward cooking for and/or dining with other lj-ers. If you want, copy this into your journal, or post a comment with your answers:

Food Allergies:
None. I'm a little sensitive to milk and some soy stuff, but not enough for a host to have to worry about them.

Foods I Don't Eat, Ever:
I don't have rules about what I will and won't eat. That said, I don't eat veal, and prefer vegetable foods over meat foods, in general.

Foods I Don't Prefer, But Will Eat Occasionally or Pick Out of Mixed Dishes:
I will eat whatever I'm served, even if it's something I wouldn't normally eat.

General Principles About My Food Preferences:
Organic is better, free-range is better, low-impact is better.
I eat some meat, but prefer most vegetable foods to most meat foods.
The more processed meat is, the more I like it, but I will try anything.

Though I probably won't eat out with or cook for most folks I know here, I still thought this was fun.

But I seem to remember that you have interesting *flavor* preferences...

Yes, but nothing a host would need to concern herself about. For instance, I don't like pumpkin pie in general (because of the cinnamon, chiefly), but I tried one that [livejournal.com profile] sogwife's aunt made, and it was good enough that I made four for the holidays.

Huh. What was the difference?

A crust made of pecans, I'd wager. The cinnamon barely registered (and I think I'm getting less sensitive about flavors over time, anyway, because I don't freak out and avoid them at all cost, even if they're not my favorites).

Pumpkin with cinnamon? I have to admit non-pickled pumpkin never occured to me.

Really? I would love to try that. Never heard of it; we don't pickle pumpkin here. We cook it (baked or boiled) like other winter squashes, and it's usually combined with cinnamon and/or nutmeg in pies.
