A year is such a tenuous thing
a thing that pretends to be real
but is conceptual and filmy

I thought I knew what a year meant
what it was

and now here I am, a year later
and I know what I did not know then
that time is meaningless
that twelve days can change what a year can not undo
that twelve days can make a year into a day or a lifetime
