If it bothers you to see atheists make fun of church people,

One of my partners runs an atheist humor website. He gets lots of hatemail and, oddly, lots of Christian spam, along with attempts to convert him. Recently, he got on the mailing list of a christian singles site, and asked to be taken off their list (politely) three times with no effect. So he decided what the hell, and signed up for their site. He used his actual info, and put this in his profile bio:

"After being repeatedly spammed by the idiots who run this site, even after asking to be removed from their list several times, I thought "What the Heck, let's have little fun." So here goes:

There is no God. Jesus is a dead guy. We're all going to be eaten by worms when we die.

You folks are wasting the only life you'll ever have by trying to live it according to rules set down by a bunch of semi-literate, pre-technological desert nomads who thought the world was flat, kept slaves, and treated women like property.

Well, that should be enough to get me taken off this site's mailing list. But before I go I'll leave you with the URL to my atheism web site: www.jhuger.com.

Thanks in advance for all the hate mail you're about to send my way: it always reminds me why I never liked church people.

TTFN"

La la la, it's fun sometimes being a heathen.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people there decide they want to get involved with him, because then they could saaaave him.

I have really found his interactions with the people who want to save him to be most interesting of all. He just asks them questions like:

* What, *exactly*, must I do to go to heaven? (They disagree among themselves for hours; it's entertaining.)

* How do I know the voice I heard wasn't god, but was satan instead, as you claim? No, really, how can I know for *sure*?

Their answers to this and other questions are so fascinating to me. Usually, the people who are most aggravated/"helpful" about his sorry heathen state are the ones who have the hardest time articulating even the basic catechisms.

Because God's voice would never tell you that you're okay, and good, and that anything other than the Church's dictates are the way to follow him. Duh.

*silly grin*
