La la la, gonna have a party!

As is usually the case, as I near the party date, I pare down my menu so that I can have fun food *and* the time and energy to enjoy my company.

Here's what I ended up with for my snacky spread:

• several kinds of cheese with crackers and, if I can pull it off, fresh french bread
  
• veggies and hummus
  
• chili and chili bites -- it's not a theme, it just ended up that way :-)
  
• apples, pears, and asian pears with homemade caramel sauce and nutella
  
• toffee butter crunch
  
• eeyore_grrl's peanut-butter cookies
  
• lyrical1's best ever cookies.
  
• more cookies if I feel up to it -- I'm in a baking mood, and I love sending people home with cookies
  
• italian sodas (regular and sugar-free)
  
• foofy espresso drinks

I am feeling zero stress about this, even though I have a ton of stuff to do before tomorrow. I feel so happy and comfortable in my new home that even if y'all showed up on my doorstep tonight, before I've mopped and cleaned and put out fresh towels, I would just smile and show you in. Life is good.

Just so you'll know...I'm still not sure whether or not I'll be able to make it. I can't drive at night at all and J. is in Washington. He is trying to arrange an early flight to get back in time but you know how it is. Is it ok if we just show up? Otherwise, we'll celebrate another time. Right?

You can show up at any time, hon. If you need a ride home, that's available, too, once folks have left. And if you don't make it, don't worry; you'll surely see my place lots of times. :-) (And maybe we'll see you at brunch on Sunday, but again, don't sweat it if you can't come.)
