This is the reason I'm invisible on YM the majority of the time. Even though my profile states that I'm in a relationship AND there's a pic of Mark and I on it, idiots like this one still msg to hit on me. And they're usually about as charming, too. -.-

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I've met some cool people online because they messaged me in response to my LJ or something. Even got to spend some time chatting with the creator of one of my favorite websites, and that resulted in some changes to the site that I appreciated, so it can be a blessing to be visible, too.

Around 50-75% of the times I'm online and visible to strangers. Of course, this has an upside, too, as I mentioned in another reply. Sometimes cool people message me and we become pals.

The ones that really get to me are the ones on game sites. Sometimes, I engage in a hearty game of ...oh, say...online dominoes or something...just so I can relax and unwind before starting a painting or a writing project. It's mindless fun. It never fails that some nebbish from Bumfuck, Nebraska wants to know a/s/l....as if that's going to someone effect the game or like it really matters. "er...yeah...You have a dick. Let me catch the next flight to Nebraska because your dominoe playing REALLY makes me horny..." sure.
