It's been a very busy, very full summer. Loads and loads of houseguests making my basement apartment feel like a really groovy bed and breakfast; new experiences in my neighborhood almost every day; much much love and good sex; many many challenges to my self-image; scads and tons of time spent with local friends who are *finally* local to me. Life has been very full, work has been very good, and I, well, I've been running on empty.

Sometimes I don't acknowledge what a huge drain it can be moving five hundred miles and establishing a whole new home town and life. It's been good, I wanna be clear about that, but it's been hard, too, and tiring.

Anyway, today is Relaxment Day(tm). I get to do lots of nothing. No one is allowed to want anything from me today, and I haven't even put any clothes on yet. I'm just sitting here goofing off on the computer, and that may be all I do all day. Lots of weekends end without a chance to breathe or sit or read or just be, but this one will not. [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy is poised to pamper me as needed, and he and [livejournal.com profile] sogwife will go off and do stuff for part of the day so I can get some alone-time. Life is good.

Oh, the party yesterday. We went over early so I could help set up, but most everything was done already (Carol and I had spent the previous afternoon and evening doing some of the prep, but Carol did tons more in the morning before we arrived). It went really well. Lots of people showed up, and I made sure to stick around for my favorite part. Often, when I'm at a party with someone else, I leave early because they're over it, and I end up missing the end, which is my favorite part. Not the bitter end or anything -- I am rarely the last to leave -- but the part where the party proper is over and people start being all relaxed and silly and singing Eagles songs and showtunes just because. And showing their tits. And making goofy puns. And lounging around in my lap. And smooching me in the moonlight. You know, stuff like that. Anyway, it was perfect, and I'm so glad I went, and so glad I arranged to be able to stay a good long time.

Anyway, on with Relaxment Day. Hope your day is as good and revitalizing as mine is shaping up to be.

Eh... nothing is for sure. I might be around, I might not. I haven't even finished my applications.

Yay for relaxment days! I'm taking a pair of them myself this weekend, to recover from last week's audition intensity and recharge for a busy work week to come. Yesterday I didn't dress till mid-afternoon (when I had to make a grocery run), and spent the day playing computer games, and watching DVDs while working on [livejournal.com profile] johnpalmer's birthday blankie. Today I'm planning more of the same, plus a Diablo II game date with John sometime this afternoon.

I'm glad things are turning out so well for you.

How did it go? (I gave a capsule version of mine in my reply to [livejournal.com profile] vito_excalibur.) I need to get on the stick and set my mom up to play Gin with me online. We have so much fun playing cards together, and I miss her.

Great fun, until he got a call from his boss telling him he had to go in to the data center and fix the ad server that wasn't serving ads. )-:

Probably just as well, mind you; we'd played nearly four hours and could easily have kept right on going - and I do need to do laundry and otherwise get things ready for the work week.

Have a good one. Might not get a chance to read LJ much this week, but I'll look forward to catching up with theater stuff, etc., next weekend.

I am having the exact same day. I am wasting time on LJ & am not feeling guilty about it for once. :) Yay for days when you absolutely refuse to plan anything.

How did yours go? My day of Planned Oblivion(tm) went really well.

(The itinerary, which is almost certainly TMI: sex, internet, ravioli-os, reading, internet, potstickers, reading and clipping coupons, sex, sex, sex, nap, grocery run, grapes, freshly homemade hummus, internet)

Not bad. A bit more productive than I was in the mood for at the time, and less sex & more negotiating about sex than I would have strictly preferred; but overall, there was much lounging about on sofas reading, much wasting time on the Net, fun drawing time, & also I got some things done that I Really Needed To Do before my trip next weekend; so I can't complain.

Oh, sure, you can complain if you want. I'll sit and bash the evil productivity with you any time. :-)

You know, I think I need to put some Relaxment days on my schedule.

Good idea! My family has a shared calendar, and I've started surrounding busy days with planned relaxment days; I feel better already.

thanks for spending part of your relaxment day with mememe!

*hugsmooch*

(do you know the underlying stuff is all different but so much of the surface stuff of our lives for the past year and a half has run in parallels that i worry that i'm going to wind up moving 500 miles.)

I loved spending time with you you you -- it's one of the things I miss with my less-social schedule these days. And if you are gonna go 500, why not 2000?
