Because I was quick to whine about how ouchy I am after two nights at FedEx, I thought it would be appropriate to let y'all know that it's already getting better. I can walk a little better, and I can type without too much pain. [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy bought me some ben-gay, an ice pack, and some finger wrap/splint thingies, and I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement, both here and in email.

For the record, I have learned two things this week: I loathe L. L. Bean, and I have learned the true value of a "Fragile" label.

Not to be a nag, but the arnica can be helpful in this type of situation, too.

If you'd like to expand on why you loathe L.L. Bean, I'd be curious, but I won't press you if you'd rather not.

L. L. Bean

You know those little plastic pouches that catalog clothes come to you in? Now imagine a large room full of them. No, wait, imagine *two* large rooms full of them, and when I say full, I mean so full that when you open the door to the room, they come spilling out and are still as high as your torso. Now load them all, all several thousand of them, onto a oonveyor belt, but here's the kicker: You are not allowed to grab an armful of them and drop them on the conveyor belt -- you must take them One. At. A. Time. and place them barcode-up on the conveyor belt. It took five or six of us more than an hour. Sucky work, but I must also say that it was fun being part of a team, all of whom (but one) have a really good attitude and are fun to work with. I don't *really* hate L. L. Bean, but if I never see another of their green or tan garment bags, I won't mind.

No, not the catalogs -- the clothes bought out of the catalogs. Many many floppy bags full of khaki pants, one imagines.

Oh, ah...

Misunderstood. And that's bigger! (but not something I can envision)

I'm a big fan of ibuprofen.

Just sayin...

The ibu really does help, but it gives me tummy trouble (as does aspirin, but in a different way), so I'm trying to find a good balance. Thanks!
